Facing Fibro

The 1st 4 times I was told I had fibromyalgia I chose to ignore it.

I was stubborn.

This could not just be fibro!

The pain was so bad, the foggy head was so bad, the difficulty getting to sleep, the weight gain, everything could not just be fibromyalgia.

Denial lasted a long time with me,

taking that step towards acceptance seems so long ago now,

that I cannot remember what made me do it.

this is a hard dx to get then having others except it too. Some doctors don't agree with it still but one day people will wake up and see it is a hard illness to have.

It is so hard to accept, who wants to believe they aren't able to "do" normal things! I have been the same way for many years in my denial, and i too can no longer ignore it.

  3. Thanks for the comments - it's great to hear from others - i wish you were not anonymous.

  4. I rode the stages of grief roller coaster for a long time. (I think) I've finally accepted the diagnoses. Of course, that doesn't mean I've given up hope for better symptom management or dare I say it ... a cure! *sigh*

    1. So agree Britta, I have great hope.
