The word fibromyalgia comes from the Latin term for fibrous tissue (fibro) and the Greek words for muscle (myo) and pain (algia).
But Fibromyalgia is so much more than just muscle pain in the fibrous tissues of the body.
Fibromyalgia syndrome is widespread muscle pain, fatigue, and multiple tender points. In addition to this, people who have fibromyalgia may experience:

- numbness or tingling of the extremities
